AHT 6375 Strengthening Underserved Communities

Description

 

Community-based development is rooted in the idea that individuals and groups are best suited to identifying and addressing social problems in their own communities. Community development enhances local ownership, sustainability, and effectiveness by localizing problems and solutions in geographically, politically, and socially defined areas. This course will provide an overview of community-based development, frameworks for development, and tools and resources that can be utilized by non-profits and development workers in international contexts. 

You may apply to attend this course either in-person or online.

Eligibility

 

Applicants must hold a recognised Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) from an approved institution. Equivalent international qualifications with an appropriate number of credits will also be considered. Applicants should demonstrate sufficient academic preparation to undertake postgraduate study. In some cases,
applicants with lower academic results may be considered for admission on a provisional basis, at the discretion of the admissions committee. B2 English (Upper Intermediate) ESL proficiency certificate or equivalent proficiency in the English language is required.
