What is a Faith Based Global Service Program?

The Internship at St. James Research Centre is a 6-month immersive training program for emerging Christian leaders called to ministry, missions, and gospel-related service. Based in Falkirk, Scotland, this program equips interns through personal spiritual formation, practical ministry training, and real-world community engagement — all within a Christ-centered, intentional environment.

Interns participate in daily rhythms of prayer, worship, and discipleship while gaining hands-on experience in outreach, church ministry, and faith-based community development. Specialized training is provided in areas like orphan care, anti-human trafficking, and asset-based approaches to mission, preparing interns to serve both locally and globally with wisdom and compassion.

An optional service placement is available after the internship, offering the opportunity to serve with international mission partners around the world.

Applications are accepted year-round, making it easy to apply when the time is right for you.

Part 1: Scotland

During the first stage of the Missionary Internship program, interns engage in gospel-centered ministry, prayer gatherings, discipleship groups, and outreach in Falkirk, Scotland. These experiences deepen spiritual maturity and provide practical opportunities to lead and serve in real ministry contexts.

Interns also collaborate on real-world challenges related to community development, child protection, anti-human trafficking, and the commercial sexual exploitation of children. They may also take up to 4 certificate level SJRC courses on these topics (Interns enrolled in select American undergrad programs may also receive accredited transcripts for an additional fee of GBP 30 per course).
